Foundation Financials

See how we spend, anytime

The Foothill-De Anza Foundation is committed to transparency and accountability, we work to ensure the greatest educational impact of every donor investment.

Endowment gifts help ensure the continued success of Foothill and De Anza colleges by providing a permanent source of funding for faculty, students, and programs. Gifts to new and existing endowments are invested, and the earnings each year are used to support named scholarships and program funds that maintain the colleges excellence.

The Foundation invests its resources with Mercer, who for more than 75 years has been a global consulting leader in talent, health, retirement, and investments.

Update to the Community: Statement Regarding Foundation Investments

Dennis Cima, Executive Director, Foothill-De Anza Foundation

September 2024

For more than 30 years, the Foothill-De Anza Foundation has supported our students, colleges and communities. The Foundation is an excellent steward of donor funds, and we carefully invest our assets to ensure we can continue our mission to change students’ lives, now and into the future.

The Foothill-De Anza Foundation’s assets are invested with Mercer in broad U.S. stock, international stock, and bond exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that exclude stocks of companies the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE), known as FTSE Russell Group, determines:

“engage in, have a specified level of involvement in, and/or derive threshold amounts of revenue from certain activities or business segments related to the following: adult entertainment, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, gambling, chemical and biological weapons, cluster munitions, anti-personnel landmines, nuclear weapons, conventional military weapons, civilian firearms, nuclear power, and coal, oil, or gas. The index methodology also excludes the stocks of companies that do not meet certain labor, human rights, environmental, and anti-corruption standards, as well as companies that do not meet certain diversity criteria.”

The Foothill-De Anza Community College District and the Foothill-De Anza Foundation are leaders among higher education institutions in divesting from fossil fuels (beginning in 2014) and shifting to a strategy that prioritizes investments in companies that score highly on environmental, social, and governance metrics. We are proud of our record of responsibly stewarding resources to maximize benefits to the students and communities we serve.

We appreciate our donors and community.
